🗳️ Sudduth for SWOCC Board #7 – 2025Dedicated to Student Success. Committed to Community.
I'm running for re-election to the Southwestern Oregon Community College Board, Position #7—and I
would be honored to earn your support.
Community college changed my life.
As a student, I had professors and counselors who believed in me. That support helped shape my path as a lifelong educator. Now, I want to pay it forward.
I believe in the power of community colleges to uplift lives and build brighter futures. That’s my story—and I want to see it repeated across our counties. I especially want to keep Curry representation. I am from Brookings and Jeremy Skinner is from Gold Beach.
🎓 What We've Accomplished Together:
In the past four years, SWOCC has made big gains in student success and graduation rates. Our progress was nationally recognized when we received the Achieving the Dream Leah Meyer Austin Award. Only two community colleges in the country received this honor in 2024.
🤝 What I’ll Keep Fighting For:
- Strong outreach to our tri-county communities: Curry, Douglas and Coos Bay
- Clear communication about SWOCC’s 68+ programs and student support systems
- Growth in career pathways and enrollment across both campuses
- Support for students facing housing and food insecurity
- Deep partnerships with local organizations to connect people to opportunity
I serve as a volunteer chaplain, working with people who are struggling. I see their potential every day. And I believe SWOCC can be a bridge to a better future—for them and for all of us.
📘 Southwestern leads and inspires lifelong learning. Let’s stay the course—together.
