Maria is an amazing SWOCC Board member! She has been influential in ensuring our students have access to the education they need to be make the choices they want in their life: either to continue into higher education degrees or to move into careers that require certification and training where they are able to access local engaged community leaders. I am a community college product (AA degree in 1970) who went on to earn a Bachelors and Masters degree from there. I benefited tremendously from attending Shoreline Community College in Seattle. I attended right after my military service as a combat medic in Vietnam. I know SWOCC is doing a lot for returning veterans. Supporting staff to get the most for what is available to the students and community. This is a non partisan position for a reason.
